Game Boy Color
The Nintendo Game Boy Color keeps the Game Boy's 8×8 tiles, its scrolling background, window overlay and forty hardware objects, and gains colour: fifteen bit RGB from a 32768-colour space, eight background palettes and eight object palettes of four colours each, a per-tile attribute that chooses a palette, a flip and a priority, and a second bank of video RAM that doubles the tiles on screen. A faster processor mode drives it all. These pages describe how each kind of art and sound is stored and drawn on the machine, and where it differs from the Game Boy.
