MIDI

MIDI is a control standard rather than a sound chip. Instead of samples or waveforms it carries a stream of messages, note on, note off, program change and controllers, that tell a synthesiser what to play and when. Sprites.org treats it as an output target, so a tune can be sequenced once and sent to any General MIDI device or software synth. Only an audio page applies, since MIDI describes sound rather than graphics.
